New Year’s Eve Concert and “Puck Drop” on Main Street – FREE EVENT EVERYONE IS WELCOME

The Ann Arbor Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting a street party on New Year’s Eve from 8pm to 2am.

The family-friendly titled The Puck Drops Here will take place on Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor featuring six hours of live entertainment and midnight ball (puck) drop.

Michelle Chamuel and Tyler Duncan of S/HE will headline the event. Chamuel, a U of M graduate, achieved national recognition as the runner up on the fourth season of NBC’s The Voice. The night will also feature DJs Robert Lux, Ross Federman, DJ Scout and live drumming from Mike Shea. The schedule of events is as follows:

8:00 – 8:30 – Live Entertainment, DJ Scout

8:33 – Lighting Ceremony of the puck

9:00-10:00 – Live Entertainment, DJ Ross Federman

10:15-11:15 – Live Entertainment, S/HE

11:20-12:30 – Live Entertainment, DJ Robert Lux

11:58:40 – PUCK DROP BEGINS

A 10-foot puck crafted by local design and fabrication studio METAL will descend at midnight. The puck will be lit with 6,000 LED lights.

This event is in conjunction witht he 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic scheduled to be played on New Year’s Day at 1pm at Michigan Stadium.
