Community Chalk Mural

Join us in the intersection of Main & Liberty to take part in a community mural project that visitors to the Summer Art Fair will enjoy throughout the weekend. All ages are welcome!!

Mandala Project

Put your creative touch on this mandala piece, that gets everyone involved in creating a masterpiece together! Don't miss the chance to win the piece of art made by the community that will be raffled off during the event. The project will be located at Main & Liberty.

Upcycled Vinyl Art - Flowers of Ann Arbor

In this workshop, you will draw and/or paint on a used vinyl record (from SCRAP Creative Reuse and Encore Records Ann Arbor), inspired by flowers of Ann Arbor! Materials are provided, while supplies last. All skill levels are welcome. This is a first come first serve project, as we have work space for 12 people at a time. Ages 4+. The workshop will be located on Main between Huron & Washington.

About artist Asha Jordan, engagement organizer

Asha Jordan, owner of Jordan Nik Art, is an Ann Arbor local artist. She has found her purpose in helping people express their creativity through art and is a proud advocate/activist for artists of color. Jordan has been a visual artist for over 20 years mastering all mediums from Conte Crayon to Acrylic. She creates everything from murals, live paintings, to clothing designs. See Asha’s work…

About the artist Irene Mokra, artist and educator

(upcycled vinyl art project)

Irene Mokra is a local artist who has been teaching early childhood and elementary school art for the last ten years in schools around Ann Arbor. Irene is currently a gallery coordinator at Gutman Gallery (the Guild of Artists and Artisans) and creative studio for kids instructor at A2AC. She enjoys being part of children's artistic journey through projects that are inspiring to them. Instagram: #imokraart

CALLING PLEIN AIR ARTISTS

Plein air artists of all levels are invited to set up their easels and paint the town on Tuesday, July 18 from 6-9pm. We'll have the streets in the Main Street Area closed to traffic including Main from William to Huron, Liberty from Ashley to 4th Ave, and Washington from Ashley to 4th Ave. Artists are invited to take to the streets and paint the scenery of our downtown. You are welcome to sell your pieces right off your easels to the public during the event. Sign up here by July 17.

 

All activities are weather permitting.
