Ann Arbor, MI – This holiday season, Ann Arbor’s beloved downtown holiday shopping event is bigger and better than ever, Midnight Madness for all three iconic districts: State Street District, the Kerrytown District, and the Main Street Area Association. As a cherished annual tradition, this event showcases the best of downtown Ann Arbor with festive late-night shopping, holiday activities, and family-friendly entertainment, creating an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors.
Taking place on Friday, December 6, 2024, Midnight Madness will feature festive highlights spread across these three bustling downtown areas, ensuring something for everyone:
Kindlefest in Kerrytown: This German inspired holiday market features artisans and vendors selling their holiday wares, live holiday music, kids events. We'll have beer and Glühwein as well as multiple local food options under the glow of holiday lights.
Join us in the State Street District for a night of holiday festivities! Enjoy handcrafted cocktails in the Downtown Ann Arbor Social District and late-night shopping until midnight. Experience festive music, holiday promotions, delicious food from local food trucks, and activities for all ages. This year, don’t miss the Merry Market on Maynard, featuring local retailers, artists, and pop-up shops. Keep an eye out for holiday characters (hint: they both wear green!) and sip on free cocoa from the Ann Arbor Police and Fire Department, along with the best popcorn near the Michigan Theatre. Join us for Holiday Beats with a festive vibe at Greektown Hotbox in the Diag, enjoy performances by the Out Loud Chorus, and dance the night away at the first-ever Silent Night Disco at Nickels Arcade, where social drinks will be allowed.
Santa on Main Street: Alongside late-night shopping, families can meet Santa Claus on Main Street, capturing festive photos and creating magical moments for children of all ages. This year’s event will also feature an interactive pop-up from Destination Ann Arbor, and carolers singing throughout the Main Street District to add to the holiday atmosphere. Shoppers can enjoy exclusive deals at their favorite stores, sip Social District beverages, and explore the variety of dining options along Main Street. Additionally, in partnership with the University of Michigan, volunteers will be downtown for Galen’s Tag Days, raising funds for local charities including Birthday Smiles for Kids, Ele’s Place, and Girls Group. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the season and experience all that downtown Ann Arbor has to offer!

Stroll the district with friends, sip unique seasonal drinks, and enjoy the holiday atmosphere.
